Outreach Media Group, a division of Outreach, Inc., located in Colorado Springs, named "The Number One Mountain City" by Money Magazine is seeking a saavy, Editorial Director to provide leadership and oversight on all content initiatives across Outreach's web properties. These properties include SermonCentral.com, ChurchLeader's.com, ChurchPlants.com and others which serve pastors and church leaders around the world, and FaithIt.com and ForEveryMom.com serving Christian consumers. This position requires a person who understands the pastor, church and Christian audience and will use that wisdom and experience to minister to those individuals, drive engagement, increase retention, enhance branding and revenue. 

MISSION 

The graphic designer creates engaging graphics that promote Outreach web properties and the mission of Outreach Media Group.  He or she must be well informed in design, language and the culture of today's church.  He or she designs editorial images that engage the reader, enhance the article, and build the brand.  The designer creates social graphics that beg to be shared while inspiring our readers.  He or she may be asked to create online display ads that promote our properties.  He or she will need to adapt and respond to changing design needs in order to best serve the team.

 OUTCOMES        

  • Create Editorial Images: After 4 weeks, must create an average of 20 engaging editorial/social images per day.
  • Layout Magazine: Layout ~30 page monthly digital tech magazine. Must meet deadlines, follow brand guidelines and communicate well with team.
  • Create Ads: Design successful ads that deliver a CTR of greater than .15%. Provide viable A/B options to create the optimal ad set.
  • Accuracy: Must proofread each creative and eliminate errors including but not limited to typos, grammar and design flaws.
  • Team Service: Teammates must rate performance at 3 or above (scale of 5).

  • Strong Knowledge of Design: Possesses strong knowledge of typography, imagery, composition, color, branding and identity
  • Professional Communication: Must be open to the ideas of others, listen well, write concisely & speak clearly in order to find the right design direction. Ongoing communication is vital to this role.
  • Passion: Must be passionate about design technology and trends, especially in the modern church, and be able to apply that learning to the creation of relevant images, magazine pages, lead magnets and ads.
  • Flexibility/Adaptability: Adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions. Copes effectively with complexity, change and last minute deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Technical Skills: Must be skilled in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, Premier, After Effects is a plus.
  • Asset Management: Must follow and maintain an organized library of assets for each brand. Naming is important.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Design/Marketing or similar

Experience: 3 years graphic design experience including working knowledge of magazine layout and designing for the web.
