Customer Service Representative: Outreach, Inc. located in Colorado Springs and is a for-profit company with a Christian Mission and Vision. The core mission of the Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of web property products, online purchases and subscriptions to help Web Properties further the vision and mission of the organization. The CSR will use phone and email to interact with customers. They will also look for opportunities to sell SermonCentral PRO when possible.

Essential Duties (Central Job Responsibilities):

  • Resolve customer issues quickly by working with Web Properties (MinistryU, SermonCentral, ChurchJobFinder, Outreach Magazine), as well as the customer to seek a solution for the customer and the web property manager.
  • Manage critical customer data and account details through various subscription software platforms for both SermonCentral and Outreach magazine.
  • Access and document procedures through Outreach's internal Knowledge Bank to distribute information quickly and easily.
  • Sell SermonCentral PRO and understand how SermonCentral PRO helps pastors and communicate the benefits clearly.
  • Share with everyone: Provide feedback as needed to customer issues.

Other Duties & Responsibilities (Not Central Job Responsibilities or are shared with others): 

  • Interacts with external customers, such as Pastors, Ministry Leaders, Subscribers, Vendors, etc., as well as internal stakeholders, such as the Web Properties team and Outreach Media Group's Ad Sales Team.
  • Report customer-reported bugs or product issues to the internal development team.

Job Qualifications (Job Specifications, Competencies, and Knowledge/Skills/Abilities):

  • Communication: Communicates the needs of the customer clearly to the manager as well as communicate the resolution to the customer.

  • Flexibility/Adaptability: Adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions. Copes effectively with complexity, change and last minute pivots.
  • Technical Skills--Comfortable using a computer, phone systems (i.e. ShoreTel), and email to communicate internally and externally.

Education & Experience (Min. Level of Formal Education and/or Min. Time Needed to Acquire KSAs):

  • Education: HS Diploma or GED
  • Experience: 2-3 years experience in a call center setting helping customers.

Working Conditions (Physical Requirements and Working Environment):

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
